My name is James Agada. Don't worry, I am not the kid in the picture. I am a lifelong programmer, inventor, and entrepreneur. After retiring from my role as CEO of one of Nigeria’s largest ICT companies in Dec 2018, I took time to research the kind of technical skills that our children, our youth and ourselves will need going into the next century. As you know, the next century will be dominated by the 4th industrial revolution. It became clear to me that the major skills revolve around being able to make things, especially smart things. Smart things are objects and devices that are infused with intelligence and communication abilities. The world of artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), robotics, 3D printing and computer aided design is upon us.

I decided to setup Ixzdore Laboratories Limited as a vehicle to create smart things but more importantly to build capacity for making smart things. The MakerClub, franchised from MakerClub UK and supplemented with our own programs and curricula is our vehicle for teaching people to make smart things using technologies of the 4th industrial revolution.

MakerClub emphasises experimentation and hands on learning. I have seen the joy and excitement children of all ages (and adults ) experience when presented with hands-on DIY electronics and programming projects. The learning opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics offered by these projects are as varied as they are fulfilling. We cover the basics of programming, electronics, robotics, and CAD (computer-aided design) through a number of increasingly complex projects. Through these projects, we introduce concepts of physics, electronics, design and engineering, algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. Participants will be instructed and assisted with basic programming skills. In addition, the participants will be able to take part in four other specialties, Programming, Electronics, Robotics, and Design.

We believe that each school in Nigeria should have her own MakerClub. In pursuit of this goal, we are looking for corporate partners and sponsors who can take up the initial investment needed to provide each school with enough kits to be able to run a MakerClub class of at least 20 pupils at a time. For a school that already has power, internet access and a computer class room to use, our MakerClub kit enough to carry out 20 projects in our curriculum including building robot arms and driverless auto-bots will cost N5m only. This will include one year subscription to MakerClub.org platform as well as training for the school teachers. For schools that do not have power or computers or internet access, they can be supported directly by us in our facilities, in partner schools or via our mobile MakerClub team. For such schools a subscription of fee of N2m per annum will be required. You can sponsor as many schools as possible.

For such a small amount, you will be fulfilling a significant corporate social responsibility of developing the next generation. In addition, Ixzdore Laboratories will provide you with free seats at our corporate innovation workshops. At the innovation workshop, we will take your staff though an immersive program aimed at showing them how to use the emerging tools of robotics, AI, bigdata, CAD and 3D Printing to solve problems, create new products and generate ideas. We will also acknowledge you as a sponsor in all the communications related to MakerClub in print, in social media and elsewhere on the web.

To sponsor one or more schools, you can fill out the sponsorship form attached here and return to us. Or you can just send an email to sponsorship@ixzdorelabs.com , leave us a message on fb.me/ixzdorelabs, tweet at us @ixzdoreL or just call us on +2348034021268 or fill out the form online at www.ixzdorelabs.com/sponsor-a-school.

We will indeed be proud of partnering with you.

Best Regards
